ERZWURZ

1972 - GERMANY

PHOTOS COUTESY OF BIRGER HOLM:

Birger with his Hofner 4579 (i) hollow-bodied guitar.

The second guitarist on the left is playing a Klira solid guitar.

The bass guitarist is playing what appears to be a Framus Strato Star 5/156-50 Bass.

The drummer used a very interesting method for holding back his bass drum!

BIRGER EXPLAINS:

The photos are from early 1972 when I was 17 years old. They show my first basement band ever called "Erzwurz". We never did a gig in this line-up. The photos were taken in the cellar of the drummer´s mom. After rehearsal we had to push back her furniture in the room above into the correct position because of the tremors :-)  ...... it was a very small post war house. Many other bands at that time made their first steps in this way.

Only the drummer and me "survived" as "Shamrock" playing some gigs two years later, and then late-70s until the mid-80s as "Druckknöpfe" ("Pressure Buttons") as a semi-professional German-language band.
