NEIL COMMENTS ABOUT HIS HOFNER:
"I have chronic neck injury which has prevented me
from playing standard weight and length axes. I was about to quit a twenty
year relationship with the guitar until, after much searching, I discovered
your website and therefore the Hofner Shorty.
This one, named "Frankenguitar" by my fellow
band members, contains a hot wired Seymour Duncan "Dimebucker" and
Gibson pots. It's a bit of a beast, and now appears regularly on stage.
The band, "Starting Point of
Genocide" known as "S.P.O.G", is based in Boston Lincolnshire
England and we play mostly around the East of England - pub and college gigs -
with one coming up for Green Peace this month. It's a five piece band - sax,
bass, drums, Shorty and vocals. We have been described by others as 'anachro sax
punks' but I have no idea what that means. The Shorty supplies cranked up chops
and some nice biting lead breaks - it's a little monster! I've had the odd
snigger, but once it lets loose the faces drop. You know what they say about men
in big cars - well the same goes for guitars!!"
