KEN: "Although not a famous band in the early 60's, the
Black Knights did have full sponsorship from Selmer. The Black Knights where a
Liverpool based trio who where chosen for a part in the film "Ferry Across
the Mersey" starring Gerry and the Pacemakers, Subsequently George Martin
produced our first record at Abbey Road Studios (self penned "I Gotta
Woman/Angel of Love ". Our manager sent a copy to Dick Twydell at Selmer,
who after hearing the record offered us full sponsorship for our amps. We
travelled down to London, where Selmer built customised amps for bass and lead
which we used extensively during out professional period, including a season at
the Star Club in Hamburg."
