Shadows and Spotnics in the early/mid 1960's.

Is the Hofner 175 on the right set up as a
5-string bass, or is it an early version of the Hofner 188 6-string bass?
No wonder the guy in the middle looks a
little uncomfortable. He doesn't own a Hofner!
