Enclosed is a pic of my stage back-up Colorama. This one is hollow, although I am sure that my earlier red and gold one is solid. It is much heavier?!
This
guitar has seen a bit of abuse. It had a bigsby tailpiece for a while,
new tuners and the pickup covers are away. The neck is super-thin
compared to the older model without a truss rod, and with its low
action it plays really well.
This guitar must be some kind of a transition model, as the body was
routed at the factory for the rectangular plastic pickups, then the
holes filled with wood and the finish applied on top. It left the
factory with toaster pickups, but one was lost and the other in very
poor condition by the time it reached me. Two 5p pieces cap the control
knobs. Sixpences would have been better, but I think Brian
May
has them all!
