1950's HOFNER MODEL 483 ACOUSTIC GUITAR
PHOTOS COURTESY OF FRANCO CALVANO, TOULOUSE, FRANCE:
The
guitar is strung with steel strings, which is what would have been fitted with
when it left the Hofner workshops.
This photo shows
the flame maple used in the back and sides of the body, together with the
multiple purfling and binding to the spruce body top. The tail-button jack
socket and built in pickup are not of course original.
Socaro of Paris were the main Hofner distributor for France in
the 1950's and 60's.
