1963 HOFNER 188(i) 6-STRING BASS GUITAR - CATALOGUE SCAN

This scan, taken from the 1963 Hofner Catalogue, has obviously had various details "artistically added", particularly the tuner heads and the pickup selector slide-switch. There are examples of the first version of the 188 model that have six-a-side tuners and a pickup selector switch located on the treble cutaway bout, i.e. in the same location as on the 175 Solid Guitar. It could well be that the version shown above with the 4 +2 tuners and the slide-switch pickup selector never in fact made it into production.
