The Dallas company had been a major distributor of the German-made Framus guitars in
the UK since the mid-1950s. What would be more natural for them but to add an
amplifier to that range of guitars? Rather than import Framus Schaller-made
amplifiers from Germany, a more economical solution would have been to
manufacture amplifiers in the UK under the Framus name. The internals of this
amplifier closely mirror those of the 15 watt Westminster combo being made by
Watkins in 1958/59. The assumption must therefore be made that Watkins produced
at least those electronics, and possibly the whole amplifier.
This Framus labeled amp seems to have been superseded by the Dallas Rangemaster
5412 model in 1960/61, which kept the same-shaped cabinet and 10" single speaker
but had a different split-chassis layout, more akin to Watkin's Dominator model?

A good use for a pilot light!
