This guitar has recently been the subject of much discussion as to whether it is a 1960 or 1961 guitar. The code on both potentiometers (340) indicate that they were manufactured in August 1960. There is also " 500/1 60 " stamped on the top edge of the headstock. (See below for picture.) However, the type of pickup on the bass is believed to have been introduced in 1961. We will probably never get to the truth, but no matter..............Greg still owns a beautiful piece of guitar history!!
